Here at Listen Up Music we provide a platform of support to music industry professionals, nurturing a support network to promote good mental health, whilst building an active community of music lovers.
At the centre of our organisation, our heart is to generate conversations around mental health and raise funds for R U OK? in Australia & the Campaign Against Living Miserably (CALM) in the UK.
Throughout the year we host a variety of events including the Songwriter’s Festival, The Awards Night and music showcases. Click below to head to our events page and see what’s coming up near you.
70% of musicians say they have suffered from anxiety or depression.
Here at Listen Up Music we champion independent artists trying to break into the music industry, whilst providing a support network to promote good mental health.
We have partnered with a number of incredible organisations who have offered discounts on their usual service fees.
The exclusive discounts are to help our community of musicians and to further support R U OK? and CALM.
The Listen Up Music Ambassador Program is an extremely important part of who we are and what we do. As an ambassador for Listen Up Music, we invited music, and/or mental health, industry professionals to play an active role in building our community of artists and advocating for mental health.
A Winner’s Journey
“On the night I won the Listen Up Australia Grand Final I met Alfie Arcuri. I told him I’d love to write with him one day, but didn’t really think anything would come of it.
The next morning I received a message from Alfie. He told me he was trying out for Eurovision and he’d love to sing my winning song for the audition. Of course, I said yes! Later, I realised I had a song that would really suit Alfie’s voice; a song called ‘Happy,’ so I sent it to him. Within 20 minutes of sending it Alfie got back to me saying he absolutely loved it.
Alfie ended up coming to Melbourne a few weeks after Listen Up, and we wrote a song together at my home studio. Eventually I got to work with Alfie and with a producer from Universal Studios.
I have also written a song with Sammi Constantine’s producer and have also worked with producers from Flagrant Artist Management.
I would recommend Listen Up to any up-and-coming songwriters. The folks are so amazing and genuinely care about the artists. You just never know what kind of doors will be opened for you.”
